Financial information is securely transferred and protected by PayPal’s Verisign Payflow Pro Gateway Service (formerly VeriSign Payflow Pro) to authorize and collect payment on credit card orders. We accept credit card payments without having to store or secure this sensitive data. Frecklebox does not store the credit card numbers that a customer enters, but immediately purges them from memory after processing them through the gateway service when the customer clicks Place Order. After the user clicks Place Order, the system checks to authorize the order amount to be held on their card, and later to be collected when the order is shipped. This often shows up as an extra pending charge on the credit card, and is later voided after the credit card is charged.
